ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Barbra Fagan is Director of Virtual Growth at Pritikin ICR and a nationally respected leader in cardiac rehabilitation. Over 40 years, she has championed innovation in prevention and home-based care, including serving as AACVPR President. Known for her empathy, strategic vision, and relentless drive, Barbra brings the same energy to healthcare transformation as she does to endurance challenges — always pushing what’s possible.

Kelsey Paarmann is a Cardiac Rehab Program Manager at Kento Health. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the University of Mary and is certified as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist through ACSM and is a CCRP certified through AACVPR. She has worked across the full spectrum of cardiac rehab, from small rural programs to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Seeing firsthand how access challenges impact patients. Today, she focuses on expanding cardiac rehabilitation beyond hospital walls through virtual care models. As co-chair of the VVOC, she is committed to advancing the profession and empowering the next generation of clinical exercise physiologists.

Samantha Schulz works in Implementation and Partnerships at Kento Health. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. She began her career at Movn Health (formerly Moving Analytics), one of the first virtual cardiac rehabilitation companies in the space. She is passionate about the intersection of clinical care, technology, and innovation, with over six years of experience in virtual cardiac care and digital health. Samantha also serves as a group fitness coach at STRIDE Fitness and is a VVOC committee member committed to shaping the future of the profession.

Danielle James, MSc, ACSM-CEP earned her Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Ball State University and brings six years of experience in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. After five and a half years working in traditional center-based programs, Danielle transitioned into virtual cardiac rehabilitation and currently practices with Kento Health, delivering remote cardiopulmonary care. With experience across both in-person and digital models, Danielle is particularly interested in maintaining clinical excellence and patient education in virtual settings while expanding access to cardiac rehab services for improved quality of life.

Alexis Bhagat, MS, ACSM-CEP, is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with Kaiser Permanente Colorado, where she specializes in Virtual Cardiac Rehabilitation. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL and began her career in cardiac stress testing at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago before continuing that work at Kaiser Permanente Colorado. After seven years in cardiac diagnostics, she transitioned into virtual cardiac rehab, where she now delivers remote cardiac care services for Kaiser Permanente Colorado. Alexis also serves as Co-Chair of the Virtual Ventures Oversight Committee (VVOC) under CEPA and is passionate about advancing and advocating for the Clinical Exercise Physiology profession.
