BRIEF SUMMARY
During this webinar we will review the effectiveness of workplace wellness programming in addressing sedentary behavior among adult workers. Participants will learn about the health and organizational benefits for both employees and employers, the level of sedentarism associated with working adults, explore the current workplace wellness landscape and common delivery models, and learn practical, evidence-based strategies to design, implement, and promote effective workplace wellness programs.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Paul M. Gallo has been the director of Exercise Science and Wellness at CT State Norwalk since 2004 and Associate Adjunct Faculty at Teachers College Columbia University since 2011. He holds a doctoral degree in applied physiology from Teachers College Columbia University and is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Paul serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the ACSM’s Health and Fitness Journal, was an Associate Editor for the ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, 12th Edition, and is a Past-President of the New England Chapter of the ACSM. Since 2014, he has served as Executive Director for the CT State Norwalk Wellness Committee, that steers the campus workplace wellness program. Paul also has extensive experience designing assessment-based curriculum and is active in research focusing on movement economy and resistance training in both persons with Parkinson’s disease and older adults.
